I started teaching myself photography in 2015 as a hobby and creative outlet to pursue outside of my full-time job at a marketing agency. In that first year, I soaked up absolutely every bit of knowledge I could. I watched YouTube videos, read countless blogs, and shot a LOT. I started with landscape photography (hated it!) and quickly learned that my passion was working with people - more importantly, capturing emotions between people! Luckily I had a handful of friends and family members who were recently engaged and let me practice on them.
I'll be honest, I made a lot of mistakes when I was first starting out, and I wasn't perfect. I'm still not! But those mistakes have allowed me to grow both personally and professionally and helped shape what my business is today. The point of all of this is that the reason I've dedicated years to honing my skills in photography is because I absolutely love it. It brings my soul JOY to capture special moments between humans (or sometimes between humans + dogs). I don't do it for the money (I still work a full-time marketing job!), I do it because it brings me happiness! So if you're looking for a photographer who is fully invested in YOU and providing the absolute best images possible, send me a note and we can chat more!
After much trial and error over the years, I've developed an editing style that I feel encapsulates everything I love about photography...vibrant colors, sharpness, crisp whites...meant to align most closely with films like Kodak and Fuji. I've also learned so much about composition, angles, and prompts to help my couples feel at ease and allow me to capture the best candid and joyful moments from their sessions. My philosophy is pretty simple: Fewer poses. More Moments. During sessions with me, you will laugh a LOT, you may feel a little awkward at first (because duh, we're not all models) but by the end of it you will forget that you're in front of a camera because you're so focused on soaking in the moment with your partner.
